The cover or pad has an elevated edge (2), which ensures a sufficient distance between the wound cover and a wound surface. A clean upper material (1) is connected with the elevated edge at two opposite sides of the upper material by a connecting unit to be open and further closed, where the upper material exhibits mechanical rigidity. The connecting unit is selected from a group, which consists of an pressure sensitive adhesive material, velcro, press button or a zipper. The elevated edge runs along the common outer edge of the upper material.
