There is provided a rotation sensor including a main rotor (10) moving as a unitary block with a rotor to be measured, a sub rotor (12) rotating with rpm different from the rpm of the main rotor in accordance with the rotation of the main rotor, first detection means (50) detecting rotation of the main rotor, and second detection means (62) detecting the rotation of the sub rotor. Detection signals obtained from the first detection means and the second detection means are periodically outputted in accordance with the respective rotors. When Tc represents a cycle of the detection signal of the first detection means and Tm represents a cycle of the detection signal of the second detection means, the relationship (Tm-Tc x i) x n = Tm (i and n are positive integers) is satisfied. This realizes a rotation sensor improving the resolution of the rotation angle detection of the rotor to be measured and improving the detection accuracy with a higher noise resistance. |
