<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a genetic engineering material for insects, which does not need use of a recombinant baculovirus and facilitates purification of objective protein and simultaneously to provide a method for producing a foreign protein by utilizing the genetic engineering material. <P>SOLUTION: A gene cassette for expression obtained by fusing a DNA sequence at the 5' terminal part of sericin gene and a DNA sequence at the 3' terminal part with a foreign protein gene is transferred to a silk gland cells or the like so as to produce a large amount of foreign protein in silk gland cells, in silk glands, especially in middle silk glands, further in a sericin layer of silk, By the new method, the foreign protein production technique is established by producing a foreign protein using silk glands without using a recombinant baculovirus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
