<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reforming the surface of an iron alloy-made structural part with which surface hardness, fatigue strength resistance, wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the part, are improved together with keeping the toughness, without needing the limitation of characteristics and the afterworking. <P>SOLUTION: This surface reforming method is quenched to the iron alloy-made structural part by applying the heat-treatment, in which the heating/cooling process for rapidly cooling to the temperature of austenitic zone or less, repeats at least at three times or more, after rapidly heating to the temperature of the austenitic zone. The heat-treatment is applied to adjust an average crystal grain diameter to 1-10 μm. The heat-treatment is performed with high frequency induction hardening, laser beam quenching, flame hardening, electrolytic quenching or electron beam quenching. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
