THREE-DIMENSIONAL DISPLAY APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional display apparatus capable of projecting a three-dimensional image, dispensing with a very difficult adjusting operation to superpose two different projected polarized light images.

SOLUTION: The three-dimensional display apparatus 1 includes: a liquid crystal light valve 2 for modulating transmitted light based on image information; an incident light polarizing part 8 for alternately switching polarizing directions between an incident light polarizing direction by a polarizing plate 3a corresponding to a right eye and an incident light polarizing direction by a polarizing plate 3b corresponding to a left eye; an exit light polarizing part 9 for alternately switching polarizing directions between an incident light polarizing direction by a polarizing plate 3b corresponding to the right eye and an incident light polarizing direction by the polarizing plate 3a corresponding to the left eye; and a control circuit 11 that synchronizes a timing of switching the polarizing directions by the incident light polarizing part 8 and the exit light polarizing part 9 with a timing of switching images displayed by the liquid crystal light valve 2 between a right eye image and a left eye image.
