PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device which has a high reliability and can safely stop its operation in case of the occurrence of abnormality. SOLUTION: The plasma display device includes a plasma display panel provided with a plurality of discharging cells having scan electrodes and sustaining electrodes; and a drive circuit which generates a driving voltage waveform for driving the scan electrodes and the sustaining electrodes. The drive circuit includes a switching element, a control circuit for controlling the switching element, and a bootstrap part for supplying power to the control circuit.
