<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine properly performing exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) even when pulse supercharging is performed. <P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine 1A comprises: an exhaust gas recirculation device 30 recirculating part of exhaust gas in an exhaust passage 6 into an intake passage 5; and a pulse supercharging valve 12 opening/closing the intake passage 5. The internal combustion engine further comprises a fluctuation suppression means 20 suppressing fluctuation in exhaust gas recirculation rate resulted from performance of the pulse supercharging, when the pulse supercharging valve 12 is operated to perform the pulse supercharging during driving the exhaust gas recirculation device 30. Since the fluctuation suppression means suppresses the fluctuation in exhaust gas recirculation rate as a result of the performance of the pulse supercharging, the EGR can be properly performed even when the pulse supercharging is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
