An apparatus, a method, and a program for correcting the color of an image are provided to designate grayscale for a target color and correct only a portion of a white color component, thereby correcting a required range of the gray scale. An apparatus for correcting the color of an image includes a correction unit(105) and a correction range selection unit(1). The correction unit(105) corrects a color of an input pixel, and the color belongs to a specified region of a color space. The correction range selection unit(1) selects a predetermined range, the center of which is positioned in a grayscale, as the specified region. The apparatus for correcting the color of the image further includes a correction amount processor. The correction amount processor calculates an approximated value, and the approximate value represents an approximate value for a target color of an input pixel in the specified region. The correction amount processor calculates a correction amount of the input pixel according to the approximate value.
