A method for sharing information through wire/wireless networks in a home network system is provided to enable a user to remotely access home network devices such as personal computer and set-top box although the devices is powered off. If a client is activated, the client judges whether it has information sharing software internally(S200,S202). If so, the client drives its internal information sharing software and accesses an information sharing service server through a wire network(S204). The information sharing service server checks authentication information of the client(S206). If authentication is successful, the information sharing service server activates home devices of a home network according to information related to the client(S208-S210). If the home devices are activated, the home network drives the information sharing software of the activated home devices, accesses the information sharing service server through the wire network, and transmits IP addresses of the home devices(S212,S214). The information sharing service server transmits IP addresses of the home devices to the client and IP addresses of the client to the home devices(S216).
