<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damping device capable of accurately detecting abnormality of a shaker at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The vibration damping device is equipped with the shaker 5 for applying vibration to a device having a vibration generating source 2, a drive part C for driving the shaker 5, and a control part 14 for controlling the drive part C. The shaker 5 has a coil and a magnetic pole. In the vibration damping device, the drive part C energizes the coil by control of the control part 14, and the coil and the magnetic pole are relatively moved to generate excitation force. The vibration damping device includes an abnormality determining means 3 for determining whether the shaker 5 is abnormal or not, based on a current value generated by the relative movement of the coil and the magnetic pole when energization to the coil is stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
