PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb variation in the coupling between a floodlight optical fiber and a floodlight element, and to stabilize/improve the sensing accuracy of an optical fiber sensor.
SOLUTION: In an optical-axis aligning method of a floodlight device of an optical fiber sensor, floodlight currents fed to light emitting chips 4B-4E are so altered that the center of the luminous distribution of a light emitter 4 provided in a floodlight element approaches to a center O2 of a fiber core 6 of a floodlight optical fiber rather than to a structural center O1 of the light emitter 4 provided in the floodlight element. That is, even though a relative axial offset (a coupling discrepancy) is generated between the structural center O1 of the light emitter 4 and the center O2 of the optical fiber core 6, the floodlight currents fed to the predetermined light emitting chips 4B-4E are so altered that the light emitting quantity (the optical intensity) of them is adjusted, and that the center of the luminous distribution of the light emitter 4 approaches (or coincides) to (or with) the center O2 of the fiber core 6.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
|
