PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of imaging an image wherein antialiasing distortion is suppressed even in the case of imaging a pixel thinning image such as a moving picture. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a solid-state imaging element; a control means for switching a still picture imaging mode for reading image data from whole pixels of the solid-state imaging element and a moving picture imaging mode for thinning pixels to read image data; first optical low-pass filters (51, 53 and 54) fixedly placed to the front side of a light receiving face of the solid-state imaging element and designed depending on pixel pitches in the case of reading image data from the whole pixels and imaging an image; second optical low pass filters (52, 55) movably placed on the front face of the light receiving face of the solid-state imaging element and the optical separation direction of which is switched; and a drive means 11 for switching the optical separation direction of the second optical low-pass filters between the case of imaging an image read from the whole pixels and the case of imaging an image read from the thinned pixels.
