PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method of monitoring the proper installation of a cooling nozzle for a grinder, especially a machine grinding a tooth flank of a work-in-progress equipped with machined teeth. SOLUTION: In an automatic test cycle of the grinder equipped with a grinding wheel 2 at a predetermined position in regard to the work-in-progress 3, after positioning the cooling nozzle 9, changes of power consumption of a grinding spindle drive when the power supply of a coolant supplying portion is turned on and when the power supply is shut off are measured. The measured value is compared with a specified preferable value zone. When the measured value is out of the preferable value zone, the machining process of the grinder is interrupted.
