[Also in Division E2] A motor vehicle door 2, Figs. 1 and 3, of the kind which is capable of translatory as well as swinging movement, is carried by at least one arm 3, one end 4 of which is pivoted approximately in a vertical axis through the middle of the door on the inside thereof, and the other end 5 is pivoted to the vehicle longitudinal bearer 8, through a cranked pivot pin 6, and in immediate proximity with the inside surface of the outer cladding of the door when closed. The pin 6 has flanges 9 boltable to the bearer 8 which is provided with elongated holes so that the pin extension 7 can be rotated slightly in the bearer to adjust the door longitudinally of the vehicle. In another embodiment the pivot pin has a cylindrical portion at its end in turn mounted at its ends by pivot pins between the forked end of the mounting arms. Alternatively, the mounting arm may be mounted between the forked end of a bracket including a plate having enlongated holes for mounting by bolts in the bearer 8 and/or a transverse bearer. In a further embodiment, Fig. 9, forked, arm mounting brackets 32 are integral with the ends of a transverse bearer 34 also having brackets 35 securable by bolts, passing through slots 38, to the longitudinal bearers, the brackets 35 also mounting a bench-seat cushion 37. The brackets 32 also have anchorages for seat bolts. |
