A system and a method for enhancing the restarting performance of an LPI(Liquefied Petroleum Injection) engine are provided to achieve a satisfactory start performance of the engine by maintaining the air/fuel ratio proper. A system for enhancing the restarting performance of an LPI engine includes a pressure sensor(100), a temperature sensor(200), and a fuel amount compensating unit. The pressure sensor measures the pressure of gas fuel introduced into an injector of the LPI engine. The temperature sensor measures the temperature of the ambient air around the pressure sensor. The fuel amount compensating unit compensates for a preset start fuel amount according to the output values of the pressure sensor and the temperature sensor and the stop time of the engine.
