A scroll compressor with a variable thrust bearing surface is provided to vary an orbiting scroll in the thrust direction according to pressure change of compression chambers for reducing deformation of the orbiting scroll resulting in friction loss or abrasion between the orbiting scroll and a main frame, thereby improving motor efficiency and preventing damage of laps. A scroll compressor with a variable thrust bearing surface includes a main frame(100) fixed in a casing, and an orbiting scroll(50) secured to the main frame to be engaged with a fixed scroll during orbiting to form a plurality of compression chambers(P) moving continuously. An elastic element(500) is mounted to the main frame or the orbiting scroll or between the main frame and the orbiting scroll for varying the orbiting scroll in the thrust direction according to pressure of the compression chambers. The main frame has a fixed part(110) fixed to the casing, and a variable part(120) elastically supported in the thrust direction on the fixed part, wherein the elastic element is mounted on a top surface of the fixed surface.
