<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium in which strike-out of a recording image is suppressed, and at the same time, the recording image to be obtained has high fineness, and further, which has a high gloss feeling. <P>SOLUTION: An ink receiving layer comprising an under layer, which includes a pigment and a binder as main components, and a recording layer is provided at least to one side of a supporting body in the ink jet recording medium. The pigment included in the under layer is a mixture of a pigment with the refractive index of 1.9 or more and a pigment with an oil absorption amount of 100 ml/100 g or more. Also, an opacity specified by JIS P8149 of the ink jet recording medium is 97 % or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
