[Also in Division G1] In a liquid-level measuring system (see Division G1), compensation for variation of the magnitude of the A.C. measurement signal with the temperature of the liquid is provided by including an amplifier in the measuring system, the gain of which varies with the temperature of the liquid. The temperature is measured by a resistor which varies linearly with temperature and which forms, with a fixed value resistor, a potential-divider across the output of the amplifier. The voltage across the temperaturevariable resistor is connected in series with the input signal to the amplifier to provide either positive or negative feed-back according to whether the liquid level signal decreases or increases with liquid temperature. |
