The cover, particularly for use as a Belisha globe at pedestrian crossings and the like, is mounted on a post 1 via mounting elements and comprises a hollow body adapted to enclose the illuminating elements and to receive a support element, the hollow body being secured at a first position to the mounting elements and at at least one other spaced position, wherein the cover element comprises two hollow, substantially hemispherical sealed sections 54,54' that contain the illuminating elements. The illuminating elements may comprise a lamp or light emitting diodes which are accessed via sealed doors in internal side of each hemisphere. The two sealed sections are preferably secured to a bracket 55 of two parts 56,56' which is adapted to fit around the post. Wiring for supplying power is preferably provided through an aperture on the internal face of the sealed sections and an appropriately positioned aperture in the face. |
