In a method of performing CAD analysis of a medical image, the medical image volume 304 is processed in a pre-processing module 306 to generate intermediate data 308, and the intermediate data is processed by a filtering module 310 to generate CAD result data for display on a viewer workstation 312. The different modules may be executed by different processing nodes or devices, enabling a variety of different system architectures.
