A method for selectively storing a sound source in a karaoke is provided selectively to record only accompaniment and song sounds among various sounds in a time interval when a recording operation is performed. The change of current generated from an accompaniment device(1) is detected when accompaniment is started to transmit a starting signal to a microcomputer(4). Sound source data are recorded from a time point when the microcomputer(4) recognizes the starting signal. The change of current generated from the accompaniment device(1) is detected when the accompaniment is ended to transmit a termination signal to the microcomputer(4). The microcomputer(4) terminates the recording of the sound source data from a time point when the termination signal is terminated. A file name is labeled for the recorded sound source data.
