Apparatus for assembling slats on ladder tapes and providing lift cords therethrough includes a table 11 where the slats are cut from a long length and have cord holes punched out, and the main portion where the assembly takes place, comprising columns 12, 14, 17 and 18 carrying lift cord threading needles 52 and means 46 for moving the ladder tapes to and fro so that successive cross tapes are on alternate sides of the lift cords. The fabricated slat is moved from table 11 on to supports 59 attached to columns 17 and 18 by a conveyor belt (not shown) via a microswitch 61 (Fig. 12, not shown) which operates a shaft 38 (Fig. 11, not shown) carrying pulleys 37 over which tapes 35 pass, which tapes support runners 33 carrying the ladder tapes 43, so that as each slat passes the switch, the ladder tapes are raised one step: the switch also operates the reciprocating shaft 50 attached to the means 46 which grips the ladder tape 43 and moves it to and fro. |
