The present invention relates to a digital broadcasting system. And, particularly, in grouping a plurality of enhanced data packets having information, multiplexing the grouped enhanced data packets with main data, and transmitting the processed data, the present invention hierarchically divides the group into a plurality of areas and identifies a type and processing method of data that are being inserted in accordance with characteristics of the hierarchically divided areas. Most particularly, by applying different pre-processing processes in accordance with a type of data being inserted in the hierarchically divided areas within the group and a type of enhanced data being inputted, the present invention may enhance a receiving performance in an environment undergoing frequent channel changes and vulnerable to noise.
