An arrangement may be made with a local propane distributor to fill and maintain the propane vending machine (20). The local propane distributor may collect the empty cylinders (30) and return them to a manufacturer for recycle or recharge. A propane vending machine may take a special token in exchange for a propane cylinder (22).
