<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can be made compact and avoid incurring of cost increase, and can maintain image quality by detecting the influence of an environmental fluctuation. <P>SOLUTION: At least one compound detecting means having two or more functions in combination among detecting means for an image position detecting a toner image for image position control formed on an intermediate transfer body, an image density detecting means for detecting a toner image for controlling the image density formed on the intermediate transfer body, and an environmental detecting means detecting the environmental conditions within the image forming apparatus body is disposed near the primary transfer position of the intermediate transfer body, and the at least one compound detecting means is constituted to be freely movably arranged along the axial direction of the image carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
