1,116,328. Electrolytic capacitor anodes. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. 17 March, 1967, No. 12664/67. Heading H1M. In the manufacture of an electrolytic capacitor the anode is produced by compacting and sintering a mass of tantalum powder into a porous sheet and cutting a portion from the sheet. The valve metal anode lead may be attached by clinching into a slot in the edge of the anode, or spot-welding to an anode cut from an incompletely sintered sheet followed by further sintering. The sheet may be partially sintered, the anode portions cut off and bent to a desired shaped (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown) and the sintering completed. Manganese dioxide and graphite-silver layers and a cathode connection are applied conventionally. |
