A method for receiving the signals transmitted through several channels and an associated device are provided to correct defaults by using an identical data packet received from another channel in case an identical receiver receives data packets from a reference channel. In receiving signals including bursts of the data transmitted through several channels, a receiver selects the first channel as a reference channel(6), and receives the bursts from the reference channel(8). The receiver monitors faults when data are received from the reference channel(10). If a fault is detected, the receiver receives the identical data from the second channel(14). In this case, the receiver monitors data quality with respect to all the received data(10,12). If the quality is satisfied, the receiver transmits the received data. However, in case the quality is not satisfied, the receiver receives the same data from the second channel(14). The receiver monitors quality of the data received through the second channel(16). In order to transmit the received data, the receiver combines the data received from the reference channel with the data received from the second channel(30).
