PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid image pickup device which complicates a mechanism and a control system, enlarges a device, and increases an electric power for driving a shutter by providing a mechanical shutter, wherein a moving picture without any distortion can be obtained by providing the mechanical shutter in a conventional rolling shutter-type CMOS sensor. SOLUTION: A charge stored by simultaneously carrying out a photoelectric conversion of an incident light by a photodiode 50 of all pixels is transmitted to a source adjacent p-type region 47 by a transmitting gate transistor simultaneously having a transmitting gate electrode 51 to the all pixels. Thereafter, since the solid image pickup device is provided with a global shutter function which is successively output from a ring state gate transistor having a ring state gate electrode 45 of each pixel, a picture distortion can be prevented at the time of photographing the moving picture, and it is possible to carry out a photographing without any picture distortion without using any shutter mechanism at the time of photographing a still picture. Moreover, a high sensitivity is realized by performing a reflective prevention to an embedded p<SP>-</SP>region 49 by multilayers consisting of a gate oxide film 44 and an SiN film 58.
