PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gimbal structure which reduces the rotation radius of an antenna packaged in a movable portion of a gimbal apparatus for driving an antenna. SOLUTION: A gimbal apparatus for driving an antenna comprises: a movable portion 2 including an antenna 1 and a movable portion side power feeding section 30; a spherical surface bearing 9 for supporting the movable portion 2 so as to swing it within a spherical surface; a supporting portion 4 in which the spherical surface bearing 9 is fixed and a supporting portion side power feeding section 70 is provided; a magnetic torquer 6 which is provided in the vicinity of the spherical surface bearing and gives a rotation torque to the movable portion 2; and a rotary joint 10 which includes a fixed portion 60 to which the supporting portion side power feeding section 70 is attached and a rotary portion 62 attached to the movable portion side power feeding section 30 and connects the movable portion side power feeding section 30 so as to rotate it around two axes orthogonal to the supporting portion side power feeding section 70, the rotary joint 10 being disposed in the rotational center of the movable portion 2.
