MOVING PICTURE CONTROL APPARATUS AND METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable reproduction of a moving picture variably depending on desired importance. SOLUTION: A moving picture control apparatus disclosed herein acquires a threshold value of a desired importance as to a moving picture on each point on the time axis of which an importance distribution is formed. A time region extract section 30 extracts all time regions whose importance in the importance distribution is the threshold value or over. A representative image generating section 32 generates representative images respectively representing the moving picture in all the time regions. A display control section 34 selects desired representative images so as to display all the representative images as a list in a way of capable of reproducing the moving picture from the time regions corresponding to the selected representative images.
