PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display (LCD) circuit which can provide enhanced image quality in display of moving picture by improving a response characteristic of an LCD device of a simple matrix type. SOLUTION: A drive control circuit for the display device of the simple matrix type including a display panel section in which a plurality of scanning electrodes and a plurality of data electrodes are arranged crossing each others, and pixels are arranged in matrix so as to correspond to crossing sections of both scanning electrodes and data electrodes, includes: a memory section for storing data for one screen image; and an arithmetic circuit section for generating driving data for display from a picture data of a current frame and a comparison picture data of an immediately-before frame stored in the memory section. When difference for each pixel between the picture data of the current frame and the comparison picture data is a predetermined value or more, the arithmetic circuit section adds or subtracts a preset correction value to or from the picture data of the current frame to output resulting data as the driving data for display, and causes the memory section to store the driving data for display as the comparison picture data.
