<p>Method for riveting two steel components (1, 2) comprises placing the first component (1) on an offset (9) formed by the transition of a rivet shaft (5) into the second component (2), initially heating the region of the rivet shaft in the center of the first component and deforming in the direction of a through hole (8) so that the first component is aligned toward the rivet shaft and deforming the free end of the river shaft so that the first component is tensioned between the offset of the second component and the lower side of the rivet head (10).
