PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contaminated soil cleaning method executing an easy/inexpensive biological treatment of in-situ cleaning of contaminated soil in a layer shallower than the level of ground water. SOLUTION: The purification method comprises the step of adding a microorganism-activating nutrient X to contaminated soil G1 in a layer shallower than the level WL of ground water to clean the contaminated soil G1 biologically. A nutrient-injecting member 5 discharging the nutrient X is disposed in an injection well 1 constructed in the contaminated soil G1, and the nutrient X added with a water-retaining material is supplied to the nutrient injection member 5 to make the nutrient injection member 5 discharge the nutrient X into the injection well 1 in order to inject the nutrient X added with the water-retaining material from the injection well 1 into contaminated soil G1.
