PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defibrillator which does not require a large power source for charging a high voltage capacitor and is improved in giving damage when heat discharge is repeated in a short time by an energy dispersing device to disperse heat of accumulated energy, not to be supplied to a patient, from a high voltage supplying device by a damp resistor. SOLUTION: The defibrillator includes a power source 140, a low impedance high capacitance double layer capacitor 1004 to store energy from the power source and a high voltage capacitor 1008 to store energy supplied by the double layer capacitor 1004 and discharge the stored energy to a patient. The low impedance high capacitance double layer capacitor 1004 charges power into the high voltage capacitor 1008. A shock is given to the patient from the high voltage capacitor 1008 by a controller. The double layer capacitor 1004 can be used for charging the high voltage capacitor without using a power source, is useful for a defibrillator, and is usable for a leadless paddle.
