A device for separating carton cut sections (14) has several first bands/belts (20) for supplying the stack (12) to a locking device (18), which is arranged above the transport plane (40) of the first band/belt (20). A free space is present between the transport plane and the bottom edge of the locking device (18) and allows entry of a carton cut section (14). The first belt (20) can be driven directly by a controlled drive, so that a carton cut section can be transported from the stack (12).
