<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretensioner supplying a tension to a safety belt. SOLUTION: This pretensioner includes a sealed pressure vessel 10 for housing pressurized gas. The pressure vessel includes a piston 23, and an ignition device 20 applied to move the piston by injecting gas in the pressure vessel. This extends the piston 23 from the pressure vessel. Since the piston passes through a diaphragm 14 with a breakage property, and is engaged with a plunger 32 having a pulley contacting with a wire 2 linked to a safety belt buckle 3, the buckle moves and a tension is given to the safety belt 5.</p> |
