[Also in Division F1] Exhaust gases entering a purifying device are expanded through a turbine 36 which rotates a shaft 29 carrying a tube 46 from which project electrodes 47 forming with a collector electrode 12 an electrostatic filter. The gases from turbine 36 flow through chamber 40, forming a cyclone separator, and through tube 33 into the interior of the electrostatic filter, where they mix with air entering through apertures and then pass outwardly through the electrode 12. Further air is added through apertures 43 and the diluted gas escapes through outlet 21 in which rotates a extractor fan 30 driven by shaft 29. A high voltage from generator 52 is applied to the tube 46 through a brush and slip ring 50, 51. The turbine 36 has braking blades 37 to limit its speed. The apertures 41, 43, are controlled by adjustable apertured rings.</p> |
