A process for the production of a polythioether dithiol or dithiols of formula HS(CH 2 S) n H, where n is 2-31, comprises contacting hydrogen sulphide with one or more thioether diols of formula HO(CH 2 S) m CH 2 OH, where m is 1-30, in an aqueous medium for the time necessary to convert all the hydroxyl groups to mercapto groups. Examples are given where n is 2-5.</p> |
