In a method for heating a galvanized workpiece (20) by passage on a transporter (50) through a run-through furnace (10) with a heater (60), the workpiece is passed through successive chamber regions (11-14), each with a protective gas supply point (31-34), the gas flowing against the direction of motion of the workpiece. Convective circulation of the gas through the overall furnace is inhibited by guiding systems (71-73) between the chambers : Independent claims are included for: (1) the corresponding furnace; and (2) a method for press-hardening workpieces, where the workpiece is heated by the present process before introduction into the press. |
