摘要 <p>An apparatus and a method for detecting signals are provided to easily detect signals based on an MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output) spatial multiplexing scheme and to reduce the complexity of calculation. An apparatus for detecting signals comprises a lattice controller(213), a signal detector(214), and a PED(Partial Euclidean Distance) calculator(212). The lattice controller(213) defines a plurality of steps, which include a plurality of nodes, respectively, and connects each node of the next step to each node of the previous step to search for a node. The signal detector(214) detects a Tx signal by using a node which the lattice controller(213) searches for. In this case, the number of the steps is identical to the number of the Tx antennas of a transmitting unit which transmits the Tx signal. Also the number of the nodes of each step is identical to the number of constellation points which are used for modulation of the Tx signal. The PED calculator(212) calculates a PED for each node of the next step by using PEDs of nodes of the previous step. Among nodes of the previous step, the lattice controller(213) selects a node to be used to determine a PED for each node of the next step.</p>
