A brush-holder comprises an insulating casing 1 carrying a brush 4 biased by two opposed torsional springs 19, 20 each comprising a number of coaxial turns and having adjacent free ends 24, 25, their other ends being secured together and arranged so that the free ends 24, 25 of the springs are aligned with the brush axis. As described, the free end 24 of spring 19 engages a rectangular plate 6 having a tag 7 located in a recess 12 in the housing 1 for engagement with a socket (13) on the end of the connecting lead which is passed through an aperture (not shown) in the side of the casing 1. |
