A trunk type outdoor unit (2) of an air conditioner, providing a cooling structure for inverter control elements capable of eliminating a restriction in disposing an inverter substrate and so formed that the inner space of a roughly rectangular parallelepiped unit casing (51) is divided into a blower chamber (S1) and a machine chamber (S2) through a partition plate (58). The outdoor unit comprises an outdoor heat exchanger (26) and an outdoor fan (32) disposed in the blower chamber (S1), a compressor (22) disposed in the machine chamber (S2), a receiver (36) disposed in the machine chamber (S2) and capable of temporarily storing a high pressure liquid medium, and first and second electrical equipment units (82) and (83). The second electrical equipment unit (83) as the inverter substrate is disposed in the machine chamber (S2), and the inverter control elements are mounted on the second electrical equipment unit. The electrical equipment unit is mounted on the receiver (36). |
