An AV network management method and an apparatus therefor are provided to more efficiently manage an AV network in which a plurality of AV devices exists. A device interface unit(1410) transmits an AV session configuration request message to a broadcasting receiving device, and receives a response for the request from the broadcasting receiving device. A control unit(1420) sets an operating mode for the broadcasting receiving device by using information included in the response. A contents output unit(1430) outputs the operating mode for the broadcasting receiving device to a user.
