#CMT# #/CMT# The tube has a tubular element (1) formed of flexible bio-compatible material e.g. PVC, and introduced into stomach of a patient through rhinolalia, while passing via oesophagus of the patient. The element has distal and proximal cuffs (4, 5), made of siliconized membrane, respectively associated to external control inflating units (4-1, 5-1), where the proximal cuff is inflated by the unit (5-1), and the distal cuff is deflated by the unit (4-1). The cuff (4) is mounted near a distal end of the element, and the cuff (5) is mounted upstream of the distal cuff relative to the distal end. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for avoiding gastro-oesophageal reflux (claimed) or gastric juice reflux causing inhalation pneumopathy type pulmonary complications while emptying stomach of a patient. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The proximal cuff is inflated by one of the inflating units to ensure sealing of oesophagus with respect to the stomach after installing the distal end of the tubular element in the stomach of the patient for stopping gastro-oesophageal reflux and deflating the distal cuff. The tube permits a practitioner to carryout processing and/or required investigations without the risk of consecutive problems related to the gastro-oesophageal reflux. The tube does not compress the walls of the oesophagus of the patient. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a schematic view of a stomach tube. 1 : Tubular element 2 : Handling end 3 : Holes 4 : Distal cuff 4-1, 5-1 : External control inflating units 5 : Proximal cuff.
|
