<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide newly identified polynucleotides encoding an esterase, polypeptides encoded by the polynucleotides, uses of the polynucleotides and polypeptides, and production and isolation methods of the polynucleotides and the polypeptides. <P>SOLUTION: Disclosed are esterase enzymes derived from various Staphylothermus, Pyrodictium, Archaeoglobus, Aquifex, M11TL, Thermococcus, Teredinibacter and Sulfolobus organisms.
