BRUSHLESS MOTOR CONTROL METHOD AND BRUSHLESS MOTOR

Provided is a brushless motor for an electric power steering device formed by 2-electrode and 3-slot multiplied by one or a greater integer. The motor has a stator winding to which current containing a higher harmonic component is supplied. The higher harmonic component percentage content of the stator winding current and the higher harmonic component percentage content of the induced electromotive force generated in the stator winding by rotation of a permanent magnet are set so as to have a difference of 0.5 to 1.5% between them, so as to mitigate the affect by the stator reaction generated in the induced electromotive force and reduce torque ripple. The difference between the higher harmonic component percentage contents are set according to a change generated in the induced electromotive force by the stator reaction when the stator winding is electrically connected.
