PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless apparatus capable of transmitting a millimeter wave signal without deteriorating the transmission characteristic even under a bad propagation environment. SOLUTION: The wireless apparatus modulates transmission data with a baseband signal by the FSK modulation system and applies frequency modulation to a high frequency signal generated by a local oscillator 122 on the basis of the baseband signal and transmits the resulting signal by a circularly polarized wave when the propagation environment is bad. The wireless apparatus modulates the transmission data with the base band signal by the QPSK modulation system and uses first and second mixers 124, 125 to frequency-mix the baseband signal and the high frequency signal generated by the local oscillator 122 to transmit the resulting signal by a linearly polarized wave when the propagation environment is good.
