PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic solution for driving of an electrolytic capacitor having low impedance and excellent life characteristics and an electrolytic capacitor using it. SOLUTION: In the electrolytic solution, there are dissolved into a mixed solvent consisting of a 10 to 80 wt.% organic solvent and 90 to 20 wt.% water at least one kind selected from carboxylic acid and carboxylate; at least one kind of a phosphoric acid compound; and at least one kind selected from alkyl diamine tetraacetic acid represented by a formula (1) (in the formula n indicates an integer of 3 to 7) as a chelate agent and from its salt.
