PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimization system for a PID controller suitable for process control capable of setting a gain or control parameter to an appropriate value simply in a short period of time. SOLUTION: The system has: a simulator 1 which has a control model 1b having the same control algorithm as a process model 1a and the PID controller 5 and performs control simulation together with the process model 1a, an evaluation part 1c for evaluating a difference between a control target value and a control response value due to the control simulation by an evaluation function IXTAE including a variable parameter X, and a control parameter search part 1d for searching for the control parameter when the evaluation function IXTAE becomes a prescribed value; a parameter adjustment part 3 for adjusting the variable parameter X of the evaluation function IXTAE; and an output part 1e for outputting the control parameter determined by the simulator 1 to the PID controller 5.
