PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numerical control method by table format data for commanding a circular-arc shape with a reduced amount of data. SOLUTION: Data corresponding to the terminal point position of the circular-arc shape of a pass table are set with the differentiation (trigonometric functions) of a circular-arc central position, radius and since/cosine. A reference position L is read (S1), and the axial position for a reference position La which is identical to or smaller than the reference position L is defined as start point axial position Xa (S3). A reference position Lb which is close to or larger than the reference position L, axial position (terminal point axial position Xb), function, circular-arc center Cxb, and radius Rb are read from the table (S4). When any function or the like is not stored, it is judged that linear connection has been performed (S12, S10). When any function is set, an initial angleΘand an angular speedΔare calculated, and an X axial position Xi is calculated by the trigonometric functions, and the increment of the moving amounts is output to a servo (S17 to S10). In the case of circular-arc shape, data to be stored in the table may be the differentiation of the circular-arc central position, radius and since/cosine, and the amount of data is reduced.
